the top and bottom are my favorites. I love the idea of flipping it over and seeing it in reverse on the back, thats really cool. Great job. Those rounded edges are great, really nice.

Oh you really went for that shape? Was it a lot more to print that way? Did you go with the third design?

Actually it would have been a lot more to print because i had to buy a 'die' for about $150. So I just made my printer print it on a 12"x18" paper, after that i cut each biz card by hand using a glass cup for the round part...ahha..it took me awhile.

I actually went for the middle design, i also changed the color red to a cyan color! [link]

hahaha waaaaaaaay to choose the ones I told you NOT to choose! Lol no im only kidding. Its cool that you took the time to cut your cards, I think it makes a huge difference so its worth your effort im sure :) I like the cyan a lot better too, red and black is all over the place but cyan is seen less often.

Hahaha, you crack me up! I checked out your photography! Really nice work...a lot of nice photographs. Photography is definitely your passion and it shows through work. Nice composition, contrast, and even gives me a sense of strong emotions!

lol, so I just noticed that on the bottom one, the one side is backwards, so it looks like it's transparent ... very innovative, very cool. I still like the middle design though, lol. The bottom design, though very neat, makes it a bit hard to pick up that tiny detail at a glance (which is usually what business cards are afforded at first), so it would just seem to have a jumble on both sides.

But anyway, I like the second one, you now really really know this, lol, so I'm going to leave you alone. :)

I actually love the middle design out of all of them, the bottom one seems to go a bit overkill on the logo ... you already get the suggestion of the logo in the shape and the black edges, and with the logo on the one side, it just seems unnecessary and busy to have it again on the other, crowding it and throwing off the simple, clean look of the logo.

I do love that logo though, and you've done a great job bringing it into the design, especially with the unique shape (bummer on the extra cutting costs, though) ... I would definitely notice this puppy in a stack of business cards. Nice work!

Thanks, glad you like the middle one because that is the one that I printed! I changed the red color to a more cyan color...red wasn't me.I definitely agree with you on the bottom card....the placement of the logo and information was off. The logo is very centralized, so that's why I (and you) chose the middle one.

Yeah, it was took expensive to buy the die to cut the cards out...so I actually took an X-knife and cut them myself...it was a lot of work but I was watching a movie, so time went by a lot quicker.

that's fantastic, cutting corners to work with your budget ... oh the pun potential! And thank god for movies, tedious task life savers, I hear you there.

And I'm glad you settled on a design (and of course, booya on picking the one I liked, lol). I'd be interested to see the final card, finished and fantastic, especially if it's turned more blue, which is most definitely my color :)

And thanks so much for checking out my photography! That means a lot to me, I'm glad you liked them. Ironically, photography is my hobby, I make my living as a designer (or will, once somebody hires my poor ass). I only started taking pictures when I traveled to Italy and knew I wasn't going to document that trip with some crappy camera ... thus, my dSLR and subsequent photography addiction. But anyway, glad you liked them. (Can you tell that I tend to ramble unnecessarily when commenting? yeah, me too. Whatever, I give permission to stop reading anytime!)

oh lord, I loved Italy. Especially Venice ... we weren't in Venice near long enough. I went for a class, eight students and one prof, stayed for the month of May. Expensive expensive, but well worth it. Loved every minute! Well, maybe not so much those last few days we were in Florence, I was getting homesick by then and I'm not much of a city person anyway, and we'd been in friggin Florence for like two weeks. I was sick of the city. Oh, and when we left Florence, we went to Assisi - gorgeous beyond belief, a must visit, it's like postcard Italy - so I thought I'd have a chance to sort of get some country back in me, right? Wrong. We were there for two days and then we packed it off to Rome. Augh. But still, extremely awesome and a wonderful trip - I hope you have a fantastic time! As if you couldn't ;)

wow, new computer and european vaca ... ambitious. I'll give you a cookie if you pull that off. ;) What kind of computer are you looking at? I'd like to get a new laptop, mine sometimes acts up. But really, I should just get a big overhaul on this one, it would be cheaper than buying a new one (I have a Macbook Pro, and as sexy as the new ones are, they're a teensy bit out of my price range.)

My Halloween was ... like any other Friday. I didn't have any parties to go to, no friends around to do anything with, I had to work just like any other day. So overall, it was sort of a bummer. I'd have liked to have done something, but alas, I am pathetic. It was also my first Halloween in four years I haven't had a major party to attend (I just graduated, and my friends were the party throwers, really big on costumes and such, big fun) so that added to the bummer-ness. How was yours?

A cookie sounds good! Well, i m one those nerdy Apple people. I grew up with Apple products since i was born. I have a laptop already (iBook G4) but looking for something more powerful! Thinking of getting a desktop computer (iMac or Mac Pro). Yeah apple products are pretty expensive but as a designer i want all of the products that look nice and perform flawlessly.

Your fridays sound like mine! Hahaha. I don't do much on the weekends either...trying to save some cash. My halloween was hanging out with a few of my neighbors. We just sat around, drank, and talked shit to each other. haha. You're definitely like me...a home -body. I just like to chill too!

Does it cost a lot more to have them cut with those rounded edges?
